VISA
  Applying for a Nigerian Visa

The Federal Republic of Nigeria has so many High commissions, embassies, consulates and other outlets in all inhabited continents of the world. Foreign nationals can apply for all categories of Nigerian visas through these outlets.
All visitors are required to have a visa to Nigeria except for citizens of countries belonging to Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
 
 

The general requirements are as follows:

For all types of Visa

  • Passport (6 months minimum validity) and three photocopies of the bearer’s information page
  • Three application forms all filled and signed by the applicant
    3 Passport photographs
  • 3 copies of a return ticket or reservation
  • 3 copies of the residence permit if the applicant does not have Spanish nationality

1. Tourist Visa (125€ single entry, 185€ 3 months multiple, 285€ 6 months multiple, 350€ 12 months multiple)

3 copies of the receipt of travelling check worth $1.000 US dollars.

2. Visiting Visa (125€ single entry, 185€ 3 months multiple, 285€ 6 months multiple, 350€ 12 months multiple)
Invitation letter faxed directly to the Embassy and to the applicant.

3. Business Visa (125€ single entry, 185€ 3 months multiple, 285€ 6 months multiple, 350€ 12 months multiple)

Presentation letter from the Spanish company (in English) explaining the purpose of visit
Invitation letter faxed directly to the Embassy and to the applicant.

4. Work Visa (TWP or STR) (400€)

  • 4 application forms all filled and signed by the applicant
    4 passport photographs
  • Work offer and work contract signed by the applicant (original and 4 copies)
  • Original and 4 copies of diploma, degree or qualifications of the applicant
  • Authorization from Nigeria, granting the work permit. (expatriate quota from Ministry of Internal Affairs of Nigeria)
  • Four copies of a return ticket.

    VISA WILL BE GRANTED IN A MINIMUM PERIOD OF 48 HOURS FROM THE RECEPTION OF ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS. APPLICANT COULD BE CALLED FOR A POSSIBLE INTERVIEW.
    Submission of application: Mondays and Wednesdays 2.00pm – 4.00pm
    Collection of Visa: Wednesdays and Fridays 2.00pm –4.00pm

Note: Applicants who wish to collect their Visas by mail should personally instruct the mail delivery companies.

PASSPORT
  Applicants for Passports, ETCs and Endorsements are strictly required to visit the Embassy. All applicants must come for interview, which will be conducted by the Consular officer before s/he goes to pay in the Bank.  
     
 

PASSPORT REISSUE (replacing a full/expired bookelt)
• The passport booklet to be replaced must either be 10 (ten years) old, or must have run out of empty visa pages.
• The holder of the passport must have Residence Permit in Spain and must bring the original plus photocopy.
• The applicant will fill the appropriate Form, which will be given to him/her at the Consular office.
• Two passport size Photos of applicant.


ISSUANCE OF FIRST PASSPORT BOOKLET (children under 16)

• Parent's (Father or Mother)/Legal Guardian's original passport booklet, plus photocopy of the first five pages.
• The applicant will fill the appropriate Form, which will be given to him/her at the Consular office.
• Original and photocopy of Parent/Legal Guardian's Residence Permit in Spain.
• Original and photocopy of child's birth certificate.
• Two passport size Photos of applicant.

PASSPORT RENEWAL
• A completed Passport Renewal Form, which can be downloaded from the 'side board' on this page, or obtained from the Embassy. (Decidir si el doc va aquí o no ponemos nada salvo que lo obtienen en la embajada.)
• Original and photocopy of Residence Permit in Spain/ Valid visa or travel documents for non resident Nigerians.
• Passport must be at least 5 (five) years old.

REPLACEMENT OF LOST PASSPORT
• Letter through the High Commission/ Embassy to the Comptroller General of Immigration, Abuja Nigeria, stating the circumstances of the loss of the passport.
• Completion of two copies of form CI, particularly Section 13.
• Production of pages 1-5 and the data page of guarantor's valid Nigerian passport and two copies of guarantor's Form (p.21) duly sworn before the Commissioner for Oaths at the Nigeria High Commission/ Embassy.
• Production of a Police Report clearly stating the loss of the Nigerian passport.
• Production of Birth Certificate, or sworn Declaration of age in a Nigerian Court or before the Commissioner for Oaths of Nigeria High Commission/ Embassy.
• Production of a sworn declaration of the loss of Passport before the Commissioner for Oaths of the Nigeria High Commission/ Embassy.
• Production of two recent studio-taken passport photographs (which must be endorsed on the reverse side by the Recommender who must be a Nigerian).
• Evidence of payment (photocopy of cash receipt).
• Original and photocopy of Residence Card in Spain.
• €260.00 (two hundred and sixty euro) refundable deposit. (The refundable deposit is only refundable when the passport reported missing is found and produced).

INSERTION OF CHILDREN IN PASSPORT
• Parent's (Father or Mother)/Legal Guardian's original passport booklet, plus photocopy of the first five pages.
